Why is this product not priced and can’t be purchased online?

As an ethical company we strongly believe that products such as mobility scooters, powerchairs, wheelchairs, riser recliner chairs & bath lifts should not be sold over the internet.

We often have customers come to us following a bad experience with an online retailer, most of the time having purchased something unsuitable over the internet.

This is due to the fact that an assessment of the users’ needs to determine product suitability should be carried out, the product should also be demonstrated before a decision is made to purchase. With the internet there is no way of checking the product is suitable prior to deciding to purchase. Buying an unsuitable mobility product over the internet without trying it first could make conditions worse, cause discomfort and limit independence.

For this reason, some of our products are only available to purchase after an assessment has been carried out either in the home or in one of our stores and cannot be purchased through our website. We only supply these products throughout the Yorkshire region where we can effectively offer our aftercare service and look after you properly. We do not sell these items nationwide.

We have our own in-house engineering department with on site workshops to carry out servicing & repairs. We either carry out servicing & repairs mobile at your home or provide a collection & delivery service. Where possible we also offer loan scooters if needed.

Why not buy from internet sellers?

Although buying from a website or over the phone is convenient, the company or website supplying the product to you does not know what your needs are. We look at the person as well as the product when giving advice.

It is very common (if you investigate it further) that online only retailers have high call out fees & return costs. A lot of internet companies do not actually carry out any ‘engineered’ delivery, servicing or repair work themselves – this is outsourced to other companies, so even if the seller has good reviews you are only dealing with the supplying company at point of purchase but not at the all-important aftercare stage.

There are a lot of internet companies who offer cheap prices but once you add in extras such as “engineered delivery” (which on average costs £80) and proper warranties the price you pay ends up the same anyway.
